Composer Kile Smith was commissioned to compose this work by the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Boston, Ed Broms, Music Director, for its 100th anniversary as the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, October 7th, 2012, and the dedication of its new sculpture, The Nautilus, on November 2nd, 2012.
